The challenge

Orbital Media are an innovative digitalĀ  agency specialising in introducing award winning technologies into the marketing sector and connecting customers to world leading brands. They needed to mordernise their existing website to showcase a groundbreaking patient led healthcare application under development.

The solution

Orbital applied for a KEEP+ Innovation Internship grant to help them find a talented graduate with graphic and web design skills to scope and develop the new website. This included scoping functionality requirements, developing a number of design options for the new product website, development of the approved design, prototype testing and final launch.

The outcome

Following confirmation of eligbility for KEEP+, an application form was completed and assessed by a grants panel. A grant offer was issued formally approving 50% match funding toward the cost of a graduate intern to work alongside the Orbital team on the project. The position was widely advertised to attract the best individuals, with a formal appointment made on a 3 day part time arrangement.   The final website design included the application of groundbreaking interactive capabilities, designed to optimise user engagement. The Internship allowed Orbital to bring graphic and web design activities in house, a function which had previously been provided externally. By doing so they have streamlined development costs, gained new expertise to be incorporated into future projects and created a new permanent job post.

"The Keep+ scheme was a fantastic, cost effective way of identifying specialist graduate expertise, for our identified, in house web project."
